in the middle of a heat wave of 37+ degree temperatures AC unit stopped working. Called them at 9:00 am and they were their within 4 hours. The technician was friendly, knowledgeable and had us up in running in less than an hour. Also did a full system check before she left to confirm no other pending issues. Great Service, would definitely recommend.

My Partner and I were very impressed with the promptness of the 2 workers (Myles and we believe Jimmy) that arrived shortly after 8am to empty out our oil tank, followed by Kyle and his group of workers (Jared, Jared , Morgan, Nathan and Jessie). This group did a fantastic job each working at their own jobs and helping each other when needed. They were very professional and didn't complain about the heat they were working in and it was one of the hottest days going. Clean up was just like when they were working....everything was neat and tidy and put back where it belonged when they were done...great bunch of guys Lorraine Peters Smiths Falls. ON

He fully explained the issue, gladly answered my questions and the process required to fix it. Fully recommend Carleton Refrigeration and Heating.

***PLEASE LOOK AT PHOTOS ADDED TO THIS REVIEW*** I was prepared to give a five star review to Carleton Refrigeration despite their failure to fix my hot water tank as seen in the photos I included. The fact that a technician was unable to diagnose the issue and put in real efforts to try and remedy the problem made me feel that this was a very reliable and worthwhile company. That all changed once the second technician came to change a $500 part and when the tank still didn't work he explained that it was a misdiagnosed situation and that he would get the part that should've been changed and that it wouldn't be any additional charges for the misdiagnosed part or replacement. I contacted the office and was told that they would contact my warranty company to see if they would be willing to replace the tank but if they didn't want to I needn't worry that rest assured they would order the right part and get it fixed by them at no additional cost. Everything seemed to be fine until Apparently they tried to get the part and couldn't find it and was told that they weren't able to get it because they no longer made the module/door assembly (burner) for my tank. At that point my warranty company offered me a buyout and when I spoke to Carleton Refrigeration they completely did a 180 and started saying that they didn't misdiagnose things and that they weren't interested in compensation for their inability to test a hot water tank. I think it's ludicrous to try and believe that you need to replace part after part until you get the right one instead of testing it from the beginning. If they gave me a better price for a new tank seeing that they made four attempts to resolve this and caused me to get a buyout because of the nearly $800 bill for fixing nothing. It comes down to the cop-out of all of a sudden saying it had to be done this way when I know for a fact that they were able to test it without replacing the gas valve for $500. Now with them knowing I have eight children and am in real need for hot water they offer me either $1800 or $2500 for a new tank no discount plus nothing they have qualifies for the $400 energy rebate. To top things off they wanted to sell me a 50gallon tank for $1800 when I could buy a 60gallon high efficiency tank for $1200. They can respond or try to spin this anyway they'd like too but in the end they changed a thermocouple gas valve for nearly $800 and neither parts were needed or necessary and as an added bonus I was able to find the assembly module and keep my tank plus fix it on my own withoutanyissuesor assistance. I know this review covers a lot of information and the fact that they're Baeulmer approved but was not able to preform a relatively easy task they definitely deserve and earned the 1star review as I cannot give them negative 1 and I will for sure contact mister Brian and see if he is interested in removing himself from this business as they don't deserve to carry his name. If they didn't bull-face lie and try to escape their responsibilities I would've been able to still have a better opinion regarding this whole ordeal. I would also like to note that I seriously feel bad for their technician as he was a pleasure to deal with and the utmost professional he was knowledgeable and shouldn't be to blame for what management at the office decided to do. I know that mistakes can happen but it's how you react or respond to the mistake that really matters.
